Building Futures: Al Rostamani Group’s Commitment to Sandooq Al Watan
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, honoured the Al Rostamani Group for its support and contribution towards Sandooq Al Watan. In a special ceremony at the Qasr Al Bahr Majlis, Chairman Marwan Abdulla Al Rostamani, and Vice Chairman Hassan Abdulla Al Rostamani received the award, conferred in recognition of distinguished donors to the fund.
Sandooq Al Watan is a key national initiative focused on youth development and enhancing social unity in the UAE. It aims to empower youth, enhance community life, and introduce programs that boost innovation capabilities and readiness for future challenges. It creates an environment where talent can realize their ambitions and actively contribute to the UAE’s ongoing developmental journey.
This acknowledgment reaffirms the Group’s commitment to playing a part in the UAE’s ever-evolving future, and its dedication to the fund’s strategic goals particularly regarding investing in the youth for sustainable growth and education. Al Rostamani Group Supports Ajman University Students
His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, honoured the Al Rostamani Group for its continuous and influential role in supporting students and assisting them in completing their academic journeys at Ajman University and through the Thamer Fund. Chairman Marwan Abdulla Al Rostamani, and Vice Chairman Hassan Abdulla Al Rostamani received the award at a special ceremony for distinguished donors held at the university. The fund’s aim is to support underprivileged students facing difficulties in continuing their education due to challenging financial circumstances.
By extending a helping hand to Ajman University students and their families, the Group has contributed to creating an environment of hope and positivity by giving them a chance to achieve their dreams and ambitions for a bright future. This initiative reflects the group’s commitment to social responsibility by lessening the burdens of families in need and covering the costs of their children’s university education.
The group will continue its journey of providing support to students in need and enabling new generations to complete their academic pursuits, recognizing the pivotal role of education in building balanced and thriving societies.
Al Rostamani Group and ESCP Business School Unveil Landmark Dubai Campus
Al Rostamani Group in partnership with ESCP Business School, the world’s first business school, helped establish its seventh campus globally, and the first in the region. This initiative, integral to our CSR efforts, marks the school’s first venture outside Europe and demonstrates our commitment to fostering educational excellence in Dubai and the UAE.
By offering scholarships to 200 talented Emirati students for the “Master of Science in Data and Business Analysis” program, we are actively contributing to the development and preparation of future leaders in the region. In 2024, the first graduating class from ESCP.
Business School’s Dubai campus will receive a special honour named the ‘Abdulla Hassan Al Rostamani Inaugural Cohort’. These graduates embody the ideals and aspirations of our esteemed founder, commemorating his enduring belief in education’s transformative role.
This strategic partnership aligns with our group’s long-standing principles of supporting education, talent development, and demonstrates our commitment to nurturing global talent and reinforces Dubai as a dynamic hub known for its innovation, creativity, diversity, and as a premier center for knowledge and educational excellence.
Al Jalila Foundation
The Al Rostamani Group made a significant contribution to the Al Jalila Foundation towards its medical research endowment. This grant reinforces the Group’s commitment to advancing medical knowledge in the UAE and aligns with the foundation’s mission to impact health through enhanced medical treatment, education, and research.
In recognition of the Group’s generous donation, a lecture hall at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Academic Medical Centre was named after our late founder, Abdulla Hassan Al Rostamani, honouring his legacy of supporting education and healthcare initiatives. Philanthropy runs deep in Al Rostamani Group’s DNA, and this particular grant is a tribute to the welfare of our community in the UAE.
Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Cancer Hospital
The Al Rostamani Group made a significant contribution towards the establishment of Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Charity Hospital in Dubai, set to open in 2026. This collaboration with various UAE philanthropists and organizations collectively raised AED 220 million for the establishment of a state-of-the-art facility for 30,000 patients annually, offering free or subsidized cancer care.
The hospital represents a significant advancement in healthcare for the UAE, by providing critical services either free or at a highly subsidized rate to ensure accessibility for patients who cannot afford quality healthcare.
The act of giving and contribution is a humanitarian principle that the Al Rostamani Group has upheld since its establishment, and this project aligns with our long-standing commitment to improving the quality of life in the community.
One Billion Meals Initiative
The Al Rostamani Group has donated AED 10 million to the ‘1 Billion Meals Endowment’, the largest program of its kind in the region, that provides food aid to the underprivileged across 50 countries.
This donation, equalling 10 million meals, is to support an initiative, which focuses on combating hunger and malnutrition worldwide, particularly among vulnerable groups such as children, refugees, displaced persons, and those affected by disasters and crises.
Marwan Abdulla Al Rostamani, Chairman of Al Rostamani Group, said: “The 1 Billion Meals Endowment, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and organised by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, is a channel of direct food support from the UAE to 50 countries around the world. It is a privilege to be able to serve humanity through this distinguished initiative by the UAE’s leadership.”
He added, “Al Rostamani Group is proud to contribute to the humanitarian effort and the noble global message of this initiative, and the one before it, the ‘100 Million Meals’ campaign, to reach the needy wherever they are without discrimination. This translates the values of giving that are deeply rooted in the UAE and its people.”
Al Rostamani Group’s support for the 100 Million Mangrove Initiative
In line with the Year of Sustainability and in preparation for COP28, the Al Rostamani Group partnered with the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) in support of the Mangrove Planting Initiative. This ambitious project aims to plant 100 million mangrove trees by 2030, significantly contributing to the UAE’s environmental sustainability efforts.
The collaboration was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in Dubai by Dr Mohammed Salman Al Hammadi from MOCCAE, and Hassan Abdulla Al Rostamani, Vice-Chairman of the Al Rostamani Group, and was attended by H.E. Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, and Marwan Abdulla Al Rostamani, Chairman of the Al Rostamani Group.
This project emphasizes the vital role of mangrove planting in combating climate change in the region and achieving the ‘Mangrove Breakthrough’ initiative’s global goal of restoring and protecting 15 million hectares of mangroves by 2030. The Al Rostamani Group’s support extends to developing a modern mangrove nursery, focusing on producing 7 million seedlings annually until 2030.
With this initiative, the UAE anticipates sequestering 115,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide yearly, significantly boosting coastal protection and marine habitats. This commitment also aligns with the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s vision for sustainable development, reinforcing the UAE’s strategic vision for environmental sustainability and clean energy.
Al Rostamani Group and ICBA: Pioneering Sustainable Agriculture for Food Security
Al Rostamani Group forged a strategic partnership with the International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA). This alliance is poised to revolutionize agricultural methods, with the focus being on technologies and practices to counteract salinity, drought, and other environmental challenges, especially in dry ecosystems such as the UAE’s.
Al Rostamani Group’s involvement brings significant investment and resources to the table with a comprehensive plan to develop and enhance training and research facilities. The aim is to establish state-of-the-art research centers equipped with the latest technologies and resources that will act as hubs of learning and innovation.
Through these efforts, the Al Rostamani Group and ICBA are setting new standards in agricultural research and training, ensuring that the knowledge and techniques developed are not only cutting-edge but also directly applicable to the unique agricultural landscape of the UAE and similar regions.
By creating sustainable farming systems that can thrive in harsh environments, food security is made achievable along with the benefits of economic diversification in the UAE and beyond, thereby contributing to the global effort to combat food scarcity and the adverse effects of climate change.
